Supervision & Consultation
Harney & Associates highly values training and education. We provide a strong supervision environment and work with clinicians pursuing licensure or in the early stages of their career.
Our providers enjoy collaborating and consulting with providers interested in our areas of expertise.
Our Approach
-
We provide a strong supervision environment and work with clinicians pursuing licensure or in the early stages of their career. Each pre-licensed clinician is supervised by one of our experienced, licensed providers.
-
Our providers enjoy collaborating and consulting with providers interested in our areas of expertise, such as eating disorders, OCD, infertility, and pregnancy/postpartum. We offer consultation in group and individual format.
-
Finally, we routinely offer talks, lectures, and Q & A's related to our expertise at other mental health practices, schools, and medical or higher education settings.
Please reach out to Dr. Meg Harney (meg@harneyassociates.com) if interested in supervision, consultation, or hosting a provider talk.
Areas of Expertise
Our providers have worked with many different clients, in many different settings, over many years. We specialize in treating complex mental health concerns revolving around eating disorders & body image, anxiety & OCD, depression, pregnancy & postpartum, and infertility. These challenges rarely exist in isolation. Along with the concern you’re exploring here, we are well versed in a wide variety of accompanying experiences:
Trauma, grief, and loss
Transitions with aging, including menopause and caring for older parents
Transitions into adulthood, including the the transition to college and failure to launch
Religious or spiritual ambivalence
Therapy for therapists
Culture and stigma concerns
LGBTQI+ concerns
Men’s Issues
We wouldn’t say we’ve seen it all, but we’ve seen a lot.
If we do not have the expertise you are looking for, we are happy to give you referrals to other providers in Richmond (or beyond). We take pride in our professional network and collaborating with others.
Healing happens with support.
If you’re ready to start feeling better, reach out and share a bit about what’s going on. We’ll take it from there.
