“I have advanced training and expertise in perinatal mental health and I value working with women across all stages of trying to conceive, pregnancy and postpartum. I also have a soft spot for fathers and partners navigating infertility, pregnancy, or parenting. I understand this season of one’s life can be filled with loss, grief, joy, and great change. In addition to perinatal and parent mental health, I am well-versed navigating a wide variety of presentations including anxiety, depression, grief, body image concerns, and life transitions.
I have expertise working with couples as well as with adolescents and their families. My couples work is grounded in attachment-based principles and I draw techniques and style from the Gottman Method and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). I use a strengths-based approach and enjoy helping couples find common ground, understand each others’ emotional and practical needs, and implement strategies that allows more connection, intimacy, and ease.
I also love working with adolescents and find that most teens appreciate the opportunity to explore their emotions, thoughts, values, and identity in space wholly reserved for them. I highlight inner strengths as well as process and troubleshoot areas of distress in order to help teens build a resilient, robust, rich, life using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Regularly incorporating parents into treatment is a standard of mine - parents are a teen’s strongest ally. I evidence-based cognitive behavioral
My therapeutic style is a mix of compassionate listening, validation, and deep understanding along with asking great questions, problem solving, and challenging my clients to live a life they highly value. I’m down-to-earth, use lots of humor, and delight in my work. I draw from empirically supported therapies, notably cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).”
