services

Our providers have extensive training and practice in multiple therapy modalities including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and motivational interviewing (MI). We enjoy working with people from varied backgrounds and welcome adults of all gender expressions and identities, sexual orientations, races, religions, economic statuses.

We use evidence-based practice and tailor treatment to each client's unique experiences.

Initial Session

During the initial session your provider will get a sense of your general psychological history and begin to understand what brought you to therapy. The first session is a good opportunity for you to get to know your provider and to make sure her style and expertise are a good fit for you.

Adult INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Therapy is an opportunity to examine your experiences with a supportive person who has a helpful perspective. Together, you and your provider will better understand your concerns, resolve problems, and develop tools to tackle areas that may have previously stumped you. Individual therapy sessions are typically weekly or biweekly, 45-50 minutes.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy promotes enhanced connection, communication, and understanding between partners in a relationship. Couple therapy sessions are typically weekly or biweekly, 45-50 minutes.

supervision

Dr. Harney has experience supervising clinicians at all training levels and can provide clinical supervision for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral clinical or counseling psychologists, particularly those interested in treating eating disorders and women's mental health.

Insurance and fees

Insurance

We are considered out of network. We will provide electronic paperwork (hard copy upon request) to clients at the end of each month that they can submit to their insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider in advance about fees and deductibles. Please do not hesitate to ask me questions about this process.

Questions to ask your insurance provider:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my out of network mental health benefit reimbursement rate?

  • Do I have an out of network deductible and has it been met?

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes  related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose     for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call Meg at (319) 541-7500.
